Hagia Sophia is a massive dome, which is the largest of its size, and its architectural marvel is absolutely mesmerizing. It was initially constructed as a Greek Orthodox church, but later it was changed into the imperial mosque of the Ottoman empire and finally, the Turkish government transformed it into the museum. Istanbul is a four-season city so you do not need to worry about attractions, sight seeing etc. Istanbul because there are almost no tourists, so you can really enjoy all the monuments and museums of the city peacefully. I couldnât resist adding this to my list of places to visit in Istanbul in the winter, although Cappadocia is quite a trek from Istanbul itself â 8 hours driving, or an hour-long flight.
